JACK GREALISH suffered a nasty cut above his eye – as he lifted the trophy to celebrate Aston Villa’s promotion.
The Villa skipper, 23, hoisted the Championship play-off trophy up alongside James Chester at Wembley.
But Chester managed to catch the Villains hero above the eye, leaving a painful-looking gash.
He could be seen dabbing the wound with a tissue as the celebrations continued in front of the royal box.
And he was asked about the accident during his interview with Sky Sports.
Grealish said: “Me and Chessy have gone up there, shared the trophy.
“And Ches gave me a little nudge and stuck the trophy on my eyebrow to slit my eyebrow open.
“I ain’t going to be looking too good for the celebrations tonight.”
Pundit Liam Rosenior joked: “You’re the first player to get cut by a trophy!”
And a couple on Twitter could not resist a cheeky dig.
One said: “How did he stay on his feet?”
Another quipped: “Surprised he didn’t fall to the ground holding his leg.”

But as well as surely needing a few stitches later on, Grealish won’t care at all.
After all, he captained his beloved boyhood club back into the Premier League, a year after Wembley heartbreak.
Goals from Anwar El Ghazi and John McGinn sealed Villa’s victory over Derby with Martyn Waghorn pulling one back for the Rams to make it a nervy finish for Dean Smith’s side.
