James Martin issued warning after ITV chef 'told off' by disappointed guest: 'God's sake'

James, 48, was on hand to host another edition of his Saturday Morning cookery show and was joined via video link by his friend and businessman, Wilfred Emmanuel-Jones, 62. The pair spoke about a number of topics, including the sausage dish the ITV chef was making whilst speaking to his guest and his new book which is soon to hit shelves. However, towards the end of the interview, the culinary genius made a quip about the MBE recipient and this led the latter to reprimand the restaurateur.

As the founder of The Black Farmer range of food products, Wilfred was explaining to James the sausages he was using from his business were only put into production a couple of weeks ago.

Discussing the jerk sausage in greater depth, the guest said they were perfect for this time of the year as autumn dawns.

Referring to the weather situation where he was speaking from and why the sausages would be perfect to eat for such an occasion, the farmer said: “It’s pouring with rain at the moment and it’s a bit chilly.

Making a jibe about why the businessman wasn’t working, James joked: “Is that why you’re inside and not on the farm, then?”

“Exactly,” the chef’s friend agreed before he then gave his interviewer a telling off by saying: “I’m a gentleman farmer James, for God’s sake.”

Having spoken about the chef’s latest publication, the guest then issued a warning to James as he said: “And James, make sure I’m in that book.

“Because I’ll be bitterly disappointed if I’m not,” he continued, with the culinary genius reiterating Wilfred would be getting a mention.

The interview then came to an end and it seemed the This Morning star couldn’t believe he’d been given a telling off.

As he explained to viewers about the bean and green vegetable side he’d made to go with the sausages, James spoke in greater depth of his friend.

“We miss you from a Saturday morning’, that’s another one,” he explained but acknowledged he wouldn’t be where he was today without the support of viewers.

“They’ve always been very loyal to me. I don’t see it as a fan base, I don’t see myself as famous at all,” James continued.

“I just cook what I like to cook and am just privileged to be doing this for a living. As other people try and find fame, I kind of can’t be bothered.

“The problem with that is the more it gets,” the Saturday Morning host said in an interview with HELLO! Magazine.

The television personality has been sporting more facial hair than usual of late on-screen and his new appearance seems to have gone down well with viewers.

Taking to social media and commenting on the chef’s beard in recent episodes of his cookery programme, one wrote on Twitter: “Loving the beard James, suits you!”

Another added: “@jamesmartinchef I am loving the beard James, really suits you and a very good one it is too!”

Whilst a third commented: “Bearded @jamesmartinchef on TV….. oooft!” followed by a series of heart emojis.

James Martin’s Saturday Morning airs at 9:30am on ITV.
