Jessica Mulroney’s ‘Pippa moment’ as Meghan Markle married Prince Harry exposed

Ms Mulroney finds herself at the centre of controversy after blogger Sasha Exeter said she “felt threatened” by the Canadian fashion stylist. Issuing a public apology, Ms Mulroney said she was “unequivocally sorry” and drew on experiences she had with a close friend “where race is front and centre”. Her reality show – ‘I Do, Redo’ – has been cancelled and she has also been dropped by ABC’s Good Morning America. Many commentators have determined that the “close friend” Ms Mulroney referred to is the Duchess of Sussex, but a source told the Daily Mail this weekend: “Meghan is absolutely mortified that she’s been dragged into this complete mess.

“She said Jessica is in no way a racist, but the way she handled the situation was tone-deaf and heartbreaking.

“Meghan said friends reflect friends and because of what’s at stake she can no longer be associated with Jessica, at least not in public.

“She has to do what she has to do in order to preserve her dignity and her own reputation.”

It has not always been this way, though.

When Meghan married Prince Harry in May 2018, Ms Mulroney wowed in a navy dress at Windsor’s St George’s Chapel.

Commentators claimed she had a “Pippa moment” – in homage to the way Kate Middleton’s sister, Pippa, stole the show when she married Prince William in 2011.

Ms Mulroney was escorting her two sons – seven-year-old John and Brian – who were page boys when the photographs were taken, sparking a social media sensation.

After the wedding, Ms Mulroney posted a single photograph on her Instagram account – a picture of her twins holding Meghan’s train as she walked up the steps of St George’s Chapel.

She wrote: “Proud friend. Proud mom.”

Earlier today it emerged that Meghan’s mother Doria is believed to have moved in with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex to become a helping hand in the care of their son, Archie Harrison.

A source told The Sun: “Doria has her own quarters and while a few of Harry’s chums have been ribbing him about living with his mother-in-law, he has a brilliant relationship with her.”
