Keir Starmer demands £500 self-isolation payment as he warns Boris must 'learn lessons'

Keir Starmer was happy the Government was pushing forward with a cautious approach in easing lockdown but explained businesses “desperately needed more support”.

The Labour leader was concerned that coronavirus would still be able to spread when lockdown was eased meaning people would require to self-isolate but they may not have the motivation or willingness to do so.

Mr Starmer suggested then the Government extends its £500 Covid grant to everyone, not only to those who lose out on work and are on low incomes, to make sure the UK does not see a second spike.
