LIVERPOOL boss Jurgen Klopp believes his side did not do enough to help star player Mohammed Salah in this afternoon’s 0-0 draw with Manchester United.
The Egyptian was well off the pace and was substituted 11 minutes before the end of the game.
In game which saw FOUR players substituted due to injury in the first half alone, both sides were unable to find top form and a poor 0-0 draw was appeared to be a fair result.
Liverpool have now drawn three of their last four Premier League games and now only lead Manchester City in the Premier League title race by a single point.
Klopp said: “Mo knows he can play better than he did today, we know he can play better than he did today, we know he can. “Two weeks ago we played against Bournemouth and he was unbelievable.”
When asked why Salah wasn’t at his best, Klopp responded: “I don’t (know) exactly, but I’m not here to be disappointed, I’m here to help the players to play their best football.”
I’m not sitting here and saying that because we draw at Man United, all the boys are guilty. They want to perform 100%. Sometimes it doesn’t happen.”
Liverpool host Watford on Wednesday and desperately need three points with City breathing down their necks.
Klopp said: “We will play on Wednesday against a team full of confidence with Watford scoring five, but there’ll be a brilliant atmosphere, night time, and we have to be ready and we will be ready.
Roberto Firmino was seen leaving Old Trafford on crutches after spraining his ankle during the game. Liverpool will hope the injury is not too serious as they continue their quest for their first Premier League title.
