LIVERPOOL have signed Harvey Elliott from Fulham – the youngest player ever to play in the Premier League.
The Anfield club announced the capture of the brilliant young winger today after beating off a host of top clubs for his signature.
Elliott, still only 16, has been signed with the view of moving straight into Jurgen Klopp’s first team squad such are his talents.
The Londoner became the youngest player ever to appear in the Premier League last season when he featured against Wolves aged 16 years and 30 days.
Barcelona and Real Madrid had both shown an interest in taking the teenager over to Spain after he impressed scouts.
But it was Liverpool who came through quickly to steal a march on the La Liga giants and a string of other clubs in England.
The England youth international will now link up with Klopp and his squad and could make his debut in next weekend’s friendly against Napoli.
Elliott said: “To have joined the club that I supported as a boy is a dream come true for me and all of my family and it’s an incredible feeling to now officially be able to call myself a Red!
“I can’t wait to get started and it will be a truly special feeling to pull the famous red jersey on.
“I’ll work as hard as I possibly can for the club and I feel Anfield is the perfect place for me to develop and progress as a player.”
Former Liverpool and Fulham star Danny Murphy has gone on record claiming Elliott has everything needed to become a superstar.
He said earlier this month: “They always have the option to send him out loan [this season] but I’ve got a feeling they really must think he is ahead of his time.
“It might not transpire this summer, but in the next couple of season I would imagine they’re hoping he develops to get some first-team action.

“He’s a great dribbler, he’s very sharp and he’s got good feet.
“He could play in one of those front three roles, that’s probably where we’d see him get his go.
“We’ll probably see him in a cup competition this season. I think this kid could be a superstar and if he has got the talent to do it, he’s at the right place.”
