Fierce football rivals Abby Norman and Jamie Alexander picked a June date for the wedding assuming all the big matches involving their clubs would be over.
Even when Liverpool overturned a 3-0 semi-final first leg defeat by Spanish champs Barcelona, Jamie, 33, never imagined Spurs would score with the last kick against Ajax to reach Saturday’s showdown too.
The two English clubs go head-to-head for glory on the day two of their superfans tie the knot.
Jamie said it was a “crazy feeling”, adding: “We should never have won that game and Liverpool never should have won theirs.
“And they are meeting on our wedding day. It’s unreal. If Liverpool win, she’ll be taking the p***.
“It’s quite intense when we watch games together.”
The couple have hastily themed their nuptials at Polhawn Fort, Cornwall.
Before the 2pm nuptials, ushers will guide guests to sit on either the Liverpool or Spurs side of the room.
The cutting of the cake will take place at half-time.
“I’m getting very nervous,’’ said Abby, 29, a care home administrator. “Not about the wedding, but about the game!
“We’re doing the first dance after the football and I’m thinking, ‘if Spurs have won I’m not dancing with his smug face’, she told ITV’s This Morning.
