Lockdown end: Zahawi says travel and family visits allowed from March 29 under rule of six

Nadhim Zahawi appeared on BBC Breakfast to confirm rumoured reports that two families would be able to meet outside under the rule of six from March 29.

He announced that the coronavirus lockdown easing would focus on the country as a whole rather than tiered reopenings.
Prime Minister Boris Johnson will announce the full roadmap in the Commons on Monday afternoon, followed by a speech to the nation at 7pm.
Mr Zahawi said: “We wouldn’t be in this place this morning to be able to say that we’re going to reopen schools on March 8, and of course, as the school holidays begin on March 29, we will look at the rule of six and two families being (able) to see each other outdoors, if we’re not confident that actually, the vaccine programme is beginning to really bear fruit.”
