THE Catholic priest son of The Lord of the Rings author JRR Tolkien was a paedophile, it is alleged.
Father John Tolkien was accused of abusing kids in Birmingham and Stoke, the Independent Inquiry into Child Sexual Abuse heard last year.

Alleged victim Christopher Carrie said he was 11 when Tolkien sexually assaulted him in 1956.
The priest was reported to police in 2001, but not charged due to ill health. He died in 2003.
Christopher Carrie, who died last year, also recorded Tolkien in 1994 claiming he too had been the victim of abuse by one of his dad’s friends.
It comes as a controversial new film about The Hobbit writer’s early life, Tolkien, is released this week.

In a 1994 recording, John Tolkien said: “I don’t intend to name names, just to say that this particular person who I loved dearly, not in a sexual way,..would be fast asleep, huddled up next to me when I woke in the morning.
“Let’s say things had gone on in the night. I knew this.
“If you wake up with your pyjamas off and they were on when you went to sleep you would wonder, wouldn’t you?”
