A 21-YEAR-OLD who was found hanging after checking in to a Travelodge hotel has been named, a court heard.

ailey Ridlington was found dead in the bathroom after checking into the hotel in Haverhill, on August 3rd.

The Essex Coroner’s Court in Chelmsford has opened an inquest into his death on Friday

The court also heard that Bailey was known to mental health services at the Essex Partnership University Foundation Trust (EPUT).

Coroner’s officer, Kerry Quill, said; “On August 3, 2019, at the Travelodge on Phoenix Road, Haverhill, Mr Ridlington was found hanging in the bathroom of a hotel room.

“Police carried out an investigation and confirmed that there were no suspicious circumstances.”

A post-mortem examination was carried out at Harlow Mortuary by Dr Sundarsan, recorded the cause of death as ‘suspension by ligature pending toxicology”.

Senior coroner Caroline Beasley-Murray said: “The body can be released, I will need to see a copy of the post-mortem report and the toxicology results.

“I would like to see the police statement and of course the photographs, the family are also welcome to write in if they wish.”

The court heard that Bailey was known to mental health services at the Essex Partnership University Foundation Trust.

A full inquest into Ridlington’s death has been scheduled for February 7, 2020.
