MANCHESTER UNITED are hopeful Marcus Rashford will extend his contract with the club before the Red Devils fly to Australia for their pre-season tour, according to reports.
The England international is expected to sign a five-year deal worth around £250,000 a week.
United had to fend off interest from Real Madrid and Barcelona, who had both showed interest in signing Rashford, 21.
But the striker is reportedly set to end transfer speculations and commit his future to Old Trafford soon.
Red Devils chiefs are hoping to announce the deal even before Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men fly out to Perth on July 8.
Most of club stars are due to report back from holidays on Monday to kick off pre-season preparations.
Rashford was demanding a staggering salary of £350,000 per week to put pen to paper.
But the Telegraph believe the Red Devils managed to get that figure down to £250,000 per week, putting him among club top earners nevertheless.
Solskjaer wants the England striker to lead his side’s attacking line next season with Romelu Lukaku’s exit still on the cards.
