MANCHESTER UNITED have been urged to make a sensational £80m bid for Chelsea star N’Golo Kante.
Premier League legend Danny Murphy, 42, believes a huge offer could turn the World Cup winner’s head – and tempt the Blues into selling the midfielder.
Kante, 28, has been played out of position for much of this season, with Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri using him in a more advanced midfield role.
It’s led to rumours that the ex-Leicester ace is unhappy – and Murphy thinks Manchester United can take advantage.
He told the Daily Mail: “I’m not convinced N’Golo Kante can be happy playing out of position at Chelsea, even though he doesn’t seem a lad who kicks up a fuss.
“Do what you can to see if Chelsea would be tempted by an £80m fee.
“Try to find out if Kante would like to play in front of 76,000 fans every week as the undisputed No 1 holding midfielder.”
The advice from the ex-Liverpool and Fulham hero comes with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer preparing to overhaul his squad.
Following an initial upturn in form following his arrival, Solskjaer has seen an alarming dip in levels at Old Trafford with seven losses in nine outings.
SunSport understands he is planning for a big summer in the transfer market.

If Solskjaer were interested in Kante, he will be able to get a close look at him this afternoon with United hosting Chelsea in Sunday’s late kick-off.
Murphy added: “United fans get a chance to see the Frenchman first hand today when they face Chelsea in what could be a Champions League play-off.
“Carrick had the quality to keep the ball and supply ammunition for Wayne Rooney, Cristiano Ronaldo, Dimitar Berbatov and Carlos Tevez.”
