MANCHESTER UNITED have identified Sevilla striker Wissam Ben Yedder as Romelu Lukaku’s replacement, according to reports.
Old Trafford ace Lukaku is being chased by Inter Milan and his agent claims he is keen to quit the club.
Now, local outlet ABC de Sevilla, is reporting that United chiefs are eyeing Ben Yedder‘s £36million release clause if the Belgian goes.
The French ace, 28, is one of the most feared hitmen in La Liga – scoring 30 times in 51 appearances in all competitions last season.
Ben Yedder has admitted he is open to joining a bigger side – but remains adamant he will only leave with his club’s blessing.
He said: “I dream of playing at the highest level, in the biggest clubs in the world and be next to world class players. To see how far I can go.
“I can not be disrespectful in the club. Whatever the final decision, I’ll be fine. I’m not worried about my future.
“I will find a balance after the choice is made, but it will also be Sevilla who decides.”
Ben Yedder’s attractive release clause has seen United, Paris Saint-Germain and Barcelona take note.
