A multimillionaire Premier League footballer has been ordered to pay his children’s nanny £3,600 in unpaid wages after she took the star to an employment tribunal.
Riyad Mahrez, a Manchester City winger who reportedly earns £200,000 a week allegedly paid Catalina Miraflores £12-an-hour to look after his two young daughters, but she left the role in November after being left thousands of pounds out of pocket.
According to The Sun, Ms Miraflores moved from London to Manchester to live in the footballer’s city centre apartment when he signed for the Premier League champions for £60 million. There, she said: “It was no longer an 8am until 6pm role,” and “I was at their beck and call 24 hours a day.”
Judge John Sherratt ruled in Ms Miraflores’ favour and ordered Mahrez to pay expenses and damages.
