Cherished moments from Mariah Carey’s romance with Derek Jeter are forever immortalized in music.

In a recent interview with Vulture, the 50-year-old singer discussed her forthcoming memoir, “The Meaning of Mariah Carey,” confirming fan speculation that her 1997 song, “The Roof,” is about the former Yankees captain, 46, recalling a kiss they shared on the roof of his apartment building.

“Of course I do! I can never forget that moment,” Carey said, also detailing how she wore a “buttery leather Chanel skirt.”

“I mean, it’s not like it was some intensely deep, intellectually stimulating — again, it was a great moment, and it happened in a divine way because it helped me get past living there, in Sing Sing, under those rules and regulations.”

“Sing Sing,” the name of a New York prison, has been used to describe Carey’s home with first husband Tommy Mottola, whom she was married to from 1993-1998.

According to the book, Carey and Jeter met at a dinner party and “secretly” swapped messages at the conclusion of her marriage to Mottola, 71. Carey was linked to Jeter in 1997, the same year she and Mottola announced their separation.

Additionally, 1997’s “My All” from the Grammy winner is also about Jeter, noting she risked it all to have an evening with the Miami Marlins co-owner in Puerto Rico.

“I’d give my all to have, just one more night with you,” Carey sings in the song. “I’d risk my life to feel, your body next to mine.”

Jeter has since married model Hannah Davis and they share two daughters. Carey was married to Nick Cannon from 2008-2016. They are parents to 9-year-old twins, Moroccan and Monroe.
