Mary J Blige is most likely to be known for her musical talents, having forged a successful career with the industry. Power Book II: Ghost is one of the biggest Blige’s biggest acting parts in a television series, where she portrays drug queenpin Monet Tejada. Monet is in charge of a major drug operation in New York and soon gets caught up with Tariq St Patrick (played by Michael Rainey Jr).
Desperate to earn money to pay for top lawyer David MacLean (Method Man) to represent his mum Tasha (Naturi Naughton), he starts working for Monet.
However, she doesn’t trust him and gets her reluctant daughter Diane (LaToya Tonodeo) to keep an eye on Tariq.

Is Power Book 2’s Mary J Blige married?
Blige was married to 49-year-old producer Kendu Isaacs, who has previously worked on shows such as Betty and Coretta and The Ellen DeGeneres Show.
He met Blige in 2000 and while it isn’t exactly clear how they met, he did once worked as her manager.
While they had no children together, Blige was a step-mother to his three children Briana, Jordan and Nas when they married in 2003.
However, their relationship wasn’t to last and led to a very public divorce.
Isaacs was runours to have had an affair during their marriage with an up-and-coming artist.
Blige claimed in court papers that Isaacs had spent $420,000 (£322,000) on this other woman while they were still married.
The singer has also previously claimed she was verbally abused by her ex-husband.
Speaking to Power 105.1’s Angie Martinez, Blige said she started to feel a sense of “overwhelming disrespect” from Isaacs which led her to question their relationship.
She said: “You start to realise that this man doesn’t want you and he’s just gone all the time and you’re by yourself in the relationship.
“When you realise you’re by yourself and you’re just suffering through it, now it’s time to do some investigating.”
