Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex, and Prince Harry have been staying in the US during the coronavirus pandemic with their one-year-old son, Archie. The couple have conducted many zoom calls with charities and organisations from their Californian home.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have taken part in calls both separately and together.

But their son Archie has also made a few appearances during their important meetings, according to a royal expert.

Omid Scobie, royal correspondent and author of the Sussexes’ biography, said the young royal frequently shows up in important Zoom calls.

Speaking on his podcast, The Heir Pod, Mr Scobie discussed the Sussexes’ son with fellow correspondent Maggie Rulli.

Mr Scobie was talking about the research behind his recent biography when he made the revelation.

He said: “I loved discovering their daily Zoom calls with the various initiatives and people that they work with.

“And how Archie is no stranger to climbing in front of the web camera and making little impromptu cameos.”

Prince Harry’s most recent Zoom call was with staff and volunteers from the Rugby Football League to mark its 125th birthday.

“I guarantee that him, Meghan and Archie would have been here, in Balmoral for the summer, had that opportunity to travel arisen.

“Unfortunately, the pandemic makes that very difficult.

“We make it very clear in the book that there’s hope for a lot of these relationships, certainly with William and Harry, that bond of brotherhood is unbreakable.”

During the Sussexes video calls, royal fans have been given glimpses into the couple’s US home.

The Duchess sat down for a chat with the activist Gloria Steinem in what is thought to be the Sussexes’ back garden.

The two women were joined by the Duchess’ two dogs, a black Labrador, Pula, and a beagle, Guy.

The Duchess said Prince Harry was a role model to their son.

She said: “I love that when he just came in he said, ‘You know that I’m a feminist too, right Gloria?

“’It’s really important to me that you know that.’

“And I look at our son and what a beautiful example that he gets to grow up with a father who is so comfortable owning that as part of his own self-identification.”
