The Duchess of Sussex and Harry are “on standby” as they prepare to welcome the royal tot.

Meghan, 37, is said to be feeling “relaxed” at her Frogmore Cottage home in the grounds of Windsor Castle.

Harry, 34, is said to have been joined by Meghan’s mum Doria at the Duchess’ side for more than a week.

A royal source told The Sun: “It won’t be long now. Meghan’s really excited. Of course she’s nervous like any first-time mum but she and Harry can’t wait.

“She’s been preparing for the birth – she wants it to be as natural as possible – and so has been practising hypnobirthing and breathing techniques with Harry.

“It’s been a huge support having her mum by her side and now she’s just getting as much rest as she can.”

It is also reported Meghan is planning to have a home birth and will stay at home for as long as possible when she goes into labour.

But she is said to understand that if needed then she will be taken to nearby Frimley Park Hospital in Surrey.

The hospital has reportedly been put on standby should Meghan need to be rushed to its maternity unit.

The source added: “The plan has never changed, Meghan has been very clear what she wants. She is taking medical advice daily and she and Harry are very flexible and will be guided by their team.

PRIVATE: Meghan and Harry won’t announce the birth until they have ‘celebrated privately’ (Pic: GETTY)

“When she goes into labour, she wants to remain at home for as long as possible but she’s in a situation where if something did go wrong and she had to be whisked to hospital, she would be.”

Buckingham Palace will make an announcement when Meghan goes into labour, but won’t reveal she has given birth until she and Harry have “celebrated privately”.

The first pictures of the royal tot is also set to be released by Meghan and Harry themselves, as they have snubbed the royal tradition of having the baby at St Mary’s Hospital’s Lindo Wing.

Although it is not known if the baby will be a boy or girl, Meghan apparently told guests at her New York baby shower she was having a boy.
