MEGHAN Markle has come under huge scrutiny for her lavish baby shower which saw her fly to New York on a private jet to be with her celebrity pals.
Now a royal biographer claims that the show of wealth – which saw her stay in a £57k-a-night penthouse suite – suggests the pregnant Duchess has a “lack of respect” and that Prince Harry must “tell her what she is doing wrong”.

Royal author Angela Levin believes Meghan is confusing royalty with celebrity and admitted, as a staunch supporter of Harry, that even she found the elaborate £300k five-day trip “difficult to defend”.
“She seems to lack respect for ways of behaving that go back generations,” Ms Levin wrote for the Mail on Sunday.
“There are times, too, when she seems unwilling to listen, preferring instead to press her own views home.
“Being royal comes with duties and obligations quite different from those of Hollywood.
“Yet I am not so sure this is something she accepts, unlike her husband.”

Ms Levin urged Harry to be stricter with his former actress wife, adding: “While congratulating Meghan on the many things she has accomplished, Harry must also explain in clear terms what she is getting so wrong.”
Meghan, who gave up her Hollywood lifestyle to become a Duchess, has also received flack for her royal wardrobe – spending an estimated £500k in 2018, the most of any royal woman in the whole of Europe.
Ms Levin questioned how Meghan could balance her luxury lifestyle with her patronage of Smart Works, which uses donated clothes to help vulnerable young women.
The controversial star-studded event was held at the swanky £57k-a-night penthouse at The Mark Hotel, which is the most expensive in New York.
Dozens of flowers were ordered to the hotel ahead of Meghan’s arrival, and the Duchess’ friends were spotted bringing gifts.
But for every gift worth $15,000 (£11, 500) or more, she is expected to pay tax.

The stunning 10,000sq ft baby shower suite that hosted the shower was described as a “castle in the sky”.
It boasts a huge rooftop terrace overlooking Central Park, five bedrooms, six bathrooms, a conservatory and a living room that can be “transformed into a full-size Grand Ballroom”.
It was attended by an A-list crowd including tennis ace Serena Williams, designers Jessica Mulroney and Misha Nonoo, lawyer Amal Clooney and TV anchor Gayle King.
Concierges were pictured loading Meghan’s collection of gifts into a van to be taken to a luxury £98,500 private jet for the six-hour journey to London – paid for by the Clooneys.

Some fans took to Twitter to criticise the eye-wateringly expensive party, which included a £480 harp performance by Erin Hill and designer Away suitcases as party favours costing £230 a pop.
One person tweeted: “Meghan & Harry are being billed as Humanitarians. They are Patrons of charities for the disadvantaged. The obscene cost of this 5 day trip is utter hypocrisy.
“Not to mention the carbon footprint of taking a private jet.”
Another added: “Meghan Markle just had a $500,000 baby shower. How many people would that money have helped. She promotes herself as a humanitarian? LOL.”
