Meghan Markle row: Lip-reader blows cover on what was REALLY said at controversial party

0

Unseen footage has emerged of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry attending Prince Charles’ 70th birthday reception in the gardens of Buckingham Palace in 2018. In the video the Duke and Duchess of Sussex can be seen leaving the royal party shortly after Prince Harry has quiet word with his father the Prince of Wales.

In her new tell-all book about the couple, royal expert Lady Colin Campbell claims Meghan had complained to Harry that she was “bored” and wanted to leave after just a quarter of an hour.

However, following extensive analysis, a lip-reader has dismissed any hostility and insisted there “definitely was not any angst”.

He said the couple promised to “catch up” later after “polite” goodbyes.

The landmark birthday celebration two years ago was Meghan’s first royal event and was attended by 6,000 guests.

In the clip, Meghan and Harry can be seen talking to well-wishers before a palace staff member taps the Duke on the shoulder and then gestures towards Prince Charles.

Harry then leans towards to his father, who puts his arm onto his back and speaks to him before turning away.

Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall then enters and kisses both Harry and Meghan on the cheek before waving goodbye.

The video has since gone viral and forced many royal watchers to speculate what may have been said.

One user wrote on Twitter: “Can anyone lip read what Harry said to Charles, he didn’t look happy.”

Another added: “’Looks like Charles tells Harry to leave, Charles doesn’t say goodbye to Meghan.”

However the Mail reports that according a lip-reader, Prince Charles told Harry: “We are going now, we have to leave”.

Harry nods and said: “You go ahead.”

The Prince of Wales then goes on to say: “We will go now… see you later.”

His son then adds: “Yes, catch up… after.”

Camilla then steps forward and according to the expert said: “Just coming to say goodbye… we will see you later.”

The speculation surrounding the video emerged amid the release of Lady Colin Campbell’s book Meghan and Harry: The Real Story.

“To his credit, he informed her they would have to stay. ‘But Harry, this is so boring. We’ve done our bit. Everyone knows we’ve been here. Let’s go’.”

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry officially left the firm in March and are no longer working members of the Royal Family.

The couple are currently living in Los Angeles with their one-year-old son Archie.
