MESUT OZIL sent his Arsenal team-mates a message of support after he missed the 1-0 victory over Newcastle due to his horror run-in with gangsters.
The Gunners playmaker and Sead Kolasinac are under 24-hour protection after two men were arrested at the German’s home last week.
Ozil, 30, and Kolasinac, 26, missed a pre-season friendly against Lyon after they were targeted by knife-wielding yobs while driving around Golder’s Green last month.
And Arsenal announced on Friday the Gunners duo would not travel to Newcastle amid a further “credible threat”.
But the German cheered on his team-mates from home and took to Twitter to wish them good luck in their first game of the Premier League season.
Ozil is reportedly considering a move to DC United after it appeared him and Kolasinac have been caught in the middle of a gang war.
After moped thugs tried to steal their watches last month, the yobs returned saying they would “rob them of everything”.
And SunSport have exclusively revealed that Eastern European gangsters, unknown to the Arsenal pair, have stepped up and told the villains no further attacks on the players will be tolerated.
Two men were then arrested after turning up to Ozil’s £9million home near Hampstead Heath to confront him.
