Michael Sheen says he will have to take on more acting roles after giving  'everything' away to charity

Sheen, from Newport, Wales, considered giving up acting to fight the rise of “demagogic, fascistic” politics in 2016 and admitted he had been scaling back his workload.

But he said: “Now I’ve got to pay for this, so I’m going to have work a bit more now, because this has cost me more than I expected.”

The charity football tournament, which sees teams of homeless players from 51 nations competing in Cardiff’s Bute Park until August 3, costs around £2million each year, with some funding coming from UEFA.
