The gang were attempting to conceal themselves inside the vehicle and smuggle themselves into the country alongside the Britain’s Got Talent star.

A source said: “Amanda and Keith were shooting inside a supermarket when a commotion kicked off outside.

“A bunch of asylum seekers were wandering around outside, and spotted the camera crew filming inside. They saw an opportunity, and tried to get into the big production van to hide behind various bits of equipment.

“As they were pulling away, the driver noticed a stray shoe belonging to a chap hiding under the boot of the van. They quickly stopped the car, and security got him out and dealt with the matter.

“When Keith and Amanda found out they were obviously pretty taken aback — but happily everyone made it back to the UK intact, with no new, unaccounted-for additions to the group.”

Celebrity Juice star Keith’s new show, which is due to air in the autumn, features a host of celebrities including Mel B and Fearne Cotton being filmed roaming across various supermarkets.

It is understood that security was increased after the bizarre incident earlier this month.
