THERE’S no hiding places on Monday with plenty of Flat racing wherever you look.
The jumpers get a very rare day off and therefore we head to the Toon for our Monday NAP.
MERWEB (Newcastle, 3.35) was a horse I followed on the all weather last season.
He never quite got going as I expected, but was always well-backed and unlucky on a couple of occasions as anyone can be on the all weather.
Now four, he looks open to plenty of improvement and after getting off the mark here in good fashion back in December, I expect plenty more this campaign.
A current mark of 75 should be history in a couple of months and hopefully Heather Main has him ready to roll today.

He steps up in trip which should suit and returns to a track his best performances have come at.
It’s a long old trip for the Main team to make and that’s a pointer in itself. The only worry is the form of the Main stable, but as always that’s a factor much harder to assess with relatively small yards.
