A MUM stole £46,000 off her boss to take her son on holidays while under investigation for pocketing £122,000 in a previous job.

Natalie Johnston, 39, feared she was going to jail for her original crime and got a new job at a family-run car dealership.

She bought her son holidays to Rome, Ireland and the Lake District.

Her boss found out about the accounts assistant’s scam when she emailed him and said: “I am truly sorry, I am ill.”

Johnston, of Salford, Gtr Manchester, admitted fraud by abuse of ­position at Tottington Motors, Bury, and at ­Fortis ­Lettings, Manchester, for the original £122,000.


She was jailed for two years and nine months at Minshull Street crown court.

She started stealing along with Tanya Drinkwater, 34, at Fortis.

Drinkwater, of Worsley, earlier got a suspended 12-month jail term for her £16,560 Fortis fraud.
