Mum to appear in court charged with murder of two teen sons

Sarah Barrass was accused of killing Tristan and Blake Barrass, aged 13 and 14 respectively, following an incident at a home in Sheffield, South Yorks.

Later today she will be taken in custody to Sheffield Crown Court, where she is to appear alongside 35-year-old Brandon Machin, who is also accused of murdering the two boys.

Barrass, 34, is also charged with three counts of attempted murder against two other children.

It comes after police were called to a semi-detached home in Sheffield’s Shiregreen area at about 7.30am on Friday.

Detectives have given no indication about the nature of the incident.

They did confirm it was confined to one property and was not a shooting.

Officers are not looking for anyone else in connection with the incident.

Haunting images of Tristan and Blake emerged yesterday.

In one, a smiling Blake is seen wearing a baseball cap back to front.

Tristan’s hair appears dyed yellow and cit into a mohawk as he stares into the camera.

Tributes have been pictured being left outside the home by neighbours as the community reels from the tragic events.
