Munchetty went on to point out: “We’re paying for that! But you don’t want to provide extra money for free school meal vouchers?”
However, Ben shut down her claims, telling the host: “I don’t think it’s a fair comparison. There’s a lot of stories going around at the minute about MPs getting food budgets, that’s just not true.
“The Parliamentary estate isn’t just there for MPs, it’s there for thousands and thousands of staff of which the MPs are a very small proportion – including visitors.”
