A WOMAN has revealed the heartbreaking way she discovered her husband had cheated on her.
The newlywed opened a message from the “other woman” on Facebook – three days into their honeymoon.
The woman told her story on Mamamia, explaining that she’d married the “love of her life” after seven years together.
They were on honeymoon in Italy, a trip she’d “spent months planning to perfection”.
She and her partner – named Harry – had gone through a “really rocky patch” around the time of their engagement, and for a while she’d been worried they might not make it through.
But the fact that they’d “fought back from the brink” was “testament to the strength of their relationship”.
The fact that we’d fought back from the brink was a testament to the strength of our relationship.
Everything unravelled three days into their trip, when the newlywed logged into Facebook on her iPad.
Among the congratulatory notes, she noticed a message in her “other folder”.
It was from a woman named Sarah, whose face she didn’t recognise.
She said: “Assuming it was junk, I was about to delete it when I glimpsed the first line: ‘I’ve been sleeping with Harry for three months…’”
She realised the message had been sent two years earlier, in the midst of her and Harry’s rough patch.
But as it wasn’t in her main folder, she’d missed it at the time.
Sarah’s message revealed that she’d met Harry in a bar.
She hadn’t known he had a girlfriend at first, but “after their first few dates (yes, he’d been wining and dining her, as well as sleeping with her), he’d come clean – and they’d continued their affair”.
The message explained that Harry had ended the relationship after he and his now-wife got engaged, but Sarah wanted to warn her “who she was about to marry”.
When the newlywed challenged Sarah to find out whether she was lying, she realised the details in her story were too specific.
And after she confronted Harry, he came clean.
She adds: “He said it’d taken him straying to realise that what we had together was truly what he wanted.
“He begged and begged for another chance.”
The woman says she couldn’t image her life without Harry in it, so she made the difficult decision to give him that chance.
Would you have done the same?
