Neymar to miss PSG’s entire pre-season after skipping first day of training after summer break

NEYMAR is set to miss the whole of Paris Saint-Germain’s pre-season after he skipped their first day back for training.

The Brazil star missed the Copa America with an ankle injury but then did not report back in Paris for the first day of pre-season.

The world’s most expensive player, 27, ruptured ankle ligaments in the Samba Boys’ 2-0 friendly win over Qatar last month.

Neymar has appeared unhappy at PSG and has been pining for a move back to Barcelona – who appear to be unable to afford his huge transfer fee.

And according to L’Equipe, the £195million man will not be present for PSG’s friendly with Sydney FC in Suzhou and will stay in Shenzen with Presnel Kimpembe, who has also been recovering from an injury.

The moneybags club begin the defence of their Ligue 1 title against Nimes on August 11, with the Trophee des Champions – the French equivalent of the Community Shield – taking place the week before on August 3.

But Neymar is suspended for the annual French season curtain-raiser due to suspension, after his unsavoury altercation with a Rennes fan after PSG lost the Coupe de France final.

Thomas Tuchel’s side are due to take on Sydney FC tomorrow in the Chinese city of Suzhou.

Lionel Messi currently leads the way in terms of best-paid players

PSG have had a mixed pre-season so far, beating Dynamo Dresden 6-1, before a draw with German side Nurnberg then a penalty shootout defeat to Inter Milan.

If Neymar does stay at Parc des Princes, the club will want to keep him fit for the duration of the season, with the Brazilian forward appearing to be cursed in recent seasons with injury.

He missed the club’s shock 3-1 defeat to Manchester United in the Champions League, as they went out of Europe thanks to a last-minute Marcus Rashford penalty.
