DIY SOS presenter and I’m a Celebrity star Nick Knowles had a fling with Labour’s shadow policing minister Louise Haigh earlier this year, The Sun can reveal.
The TV host, who was banned from driving this week, met the red-haired Labour frontbencher at the Police Bravery awards last year.
The pair’s relationship had been an open secret among Labour circles but the pair broke up recently, according to sources in the party.
A Labour insider said: “Their relationship was well known within Westminster and many MPs were talking about it.”
It is understood that they broke up before Knowles pleaded guilty to speeding and using a mobile phone while driving on Wednesday.
On Thursday the dad-of-four was banned from driving for six months and fined nearly £1,500.

Knowles and Ms Haigh, 31, flirted on Twitter after meeting each other at the Police Bravery awards in July 2018.
She posted a picture of her posing with Knowles at the black-tie do on Twitter and after praising three police officers she added cheekily in the tweet: “Oh, and met that @Mr NickKnowles as well, which was nice.”
Lavishing praise on Ms Haigh, Knowles replied: “An inspirational evening & lovely to meet one of the few MPs who supports & fights for our Police.”
Ms Haigh well-known for her brightly-dyed hair in the Commons chamber and her feisty performances at the Despatch Box.
She is often seen drinking in the MPs’ bar in Westminster – and has also invited Knowles in for a pint.
She was elected Labour MP for Sheffield Heeley in 2015 and within four months she was on the party’s frontbench team – joining Jeremy Corbyn’s team after he was elected leader.
Ms Haigh is Labour’s spokesman for Policing – a role she has served in since July 2017. Ms Haigh declined to comment when contacted by The Sun last night.
Knowles, 56, who famously said he got into TV to “meet attractive women”, has been mostly single since splitting from his second wife Jessica Moor.
