A suspect dubbed “the night rapist” has been charged in relation to a series of sexual assaults and robberies across London.
The Metropolitan Police have charged Abdullah Baballah with two counts of rape, two counts of attempted rape and four counts of robbery.
Mr Baballah is alleged to have pounced on his victims during the early hours of the morning as they were on their way home.
One of his alleged victims had been walking home when she was approached by a man who raped her and stole some of her property.
The police force were also called to assist a 31-year-old woman who was approached by a man who raped her on July 6 at 4.20am in north-east London.
The Metropolitan Police have said Mr Baballah has been charged with the following assaults.
One count of rape that occurred on Monday July 1 in the Plaistow South area in Newham and one count of attempted rape near Leyton Underground on Saturday July 6.
Four counts of robbery in relation to all four incidents.
One count of rape on Saturday July 6 at Amethyst Road, Waltham Forest and one count of attempted rape on Thursday July 11 in the Central Park Road area of East Ham.
Mr Baballah has been remanded in custody and is expected to appear at Thames Magistrates’ Court on
Detective Superintendent Andrew Packer said the attacks had been “deeply traumatic for the victims” who are being supported by officers.
