Bookmakers have slashed the odds of the Duchess of Sussex giving birth to twins, with Ladbrokes offering 4-1 odds on a double celebration for the royal couple.

Odds have been slashed further by Coral, with the possibility of twins down from 6-1 to 3-1.

In November, bookmaker Paddy Power suspended bets on the chances of a double royal bundle of joy after an abnormal number of wagers were placed.

Bookies Betway are currently offering odds of 2-1 that Meghan will have twins this Spring — with odds of triplets currently at 20-1.

The last time the Royal Family welcomed twin babies was in the 15th century when James I of Scotland’s wife, Queen Joan, gave birth to two boys on 16 October 1430, Alexander and James.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are set to become parents in early April, with much speculation about the child’s gender.

Ladbrokes are currently offering odds of 8-11 of a royal baby girl, with evens for a boy.

The Duke and Duchess announced the pregnancy in mid-October 2018, five months after the couple said ‘I do’.

Meghan Markle let slip that her due month was April during a trip to Birkenhead in January but this has not been confirmed by Kensington Palace.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s child will be the seventh in line to the throne, but is unlikely to be a prince or a princess due to a royal rule dating back to 1917.

According to this rule, any child of Prince Harry will be too far removed from the Queen to have a Royal Highness title.

This means that Baby Sussex is most likely to use the royal family’s personal surname of Mountbatten-Windsor.
