THE parents of a new born premature baby have been charged over her death after she suffered 90 fractures including a cracked skull.
Jazmin Robin died just days after leaving hospital and investigators believe dad Jason Robin violently shook the new born after her crying angered him.
Robin, 24, has been charged with the murder of Jazmine while 21-year mum Katherine Wyndham White is accused of injury by omission – failing to act to protect Jazmine.
His parents have released a statement saying Robin and White both had “violent tempers”.
Jazmin, who was born prematurely, was 10 weeks old when she died on July 15, 2018, 12 days after leaving the hospital.
Investigators believe the child suffered multiple fractures to several ribs 71 rib fractures in all and 23 “long bone” breaks.
Detectives were called to a Houston hospital after staff there found “clearly inflicted head trauma,” according to a police affidavit.
“It is concluded that a minimum of two traumatic events resulted in 96 fractures,” the affidavit said.
It took several months to complete the autopsy because those done on infants, and related testing, generally take much longer than ones done on adults.
When it was completed last month the autopsy determined the girl’s death was caused by blunt force trauma to the head.
We have filed charges and will seek justice for young Jazmine
Harris County District Attorney Kim Ogg
Harris County District Attorney Kim Ogg added: “The evidence shows that Baby Jazmine fell victim to the very people who were supposed to protect her the most in this world.
“After a full and thorough investigation of the facts, we have filed charges, and will seek justice for young Jazmine.”
Robin and White are being held the Harris County jail and face life sentences if convicted on the charges.
Robin told an investigator that he read psychology books in an effort to control his anger and said Jazmine “is too beautiful to hit.”
White blamed the child’s brain injury on hospital personnel who administered CPR on Jazmine for an hour, the affidavit said.

She later told authorities a woman who also lived at their residence was likely to blame for the girl’s injuries.
In a statement to ABC13, Robin’s parents Myka and Jason said: “I really don’t know what to say except we told them they were toxic for each other, we tried to get them to split up.
“They both had violent tempers but we never imagined this would happen. We lost a beautiful, strong angel who fought so hard to come home.”
