Patrick Beverley rips Jared Dudley over NBA restart concerns

Notorious trash talker Patrick Beverley has had some active Twitter fingers lately – and his latest target is crosstown rival Jared Dudley.

The conversation began when Dudley retweeted a post from ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski raising concern about injuries when the NBA restarts next month in Orlando. “Not enough talk about soft tissue injuries with basically 2 weeks of full court 5-5 to prepare [for] 3 month potential season,” the Lakers forward wrote alongside the original post.

Beverley, who has been known to ruffle feathers during his career in the NBA, appeared to take issue with Dudley’s tweet. The Clippers guard tweeted, “Again basketball is a year round sport. We don’t wanna hear that s–t.”

Dudley immediately fired back. “I don’t know what you talking about,” Dudley tweeted. “Season happening! Believe that! But if you don’t think we as athletes should be talking about protest, injuries, COVID then you might want to sit this convo out bruh.”

Beverley has been vocal about wanting to play for weeks now. When Kyrie Irving discussed the possibility of skipping the NBA restart out of fears it would distract from the nationwide Black Lives Matter movement, Beverley pushed back, citing Dudley’s Lakers teammate LeBron James as a reason.

“If @KingJames said he hooping. We all hooping. Nothing personal only BUSINESS,” Beverley tweeted at the time.

The NBA is currently slated to restart July 30 at Walt Disney World’s ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex in Orlando, Florida.
