THE grieving mum of Charles Bronson’s ex-wife has said she never understood why her late Corrie actress daughter wed the notorious con.
Paula Williamson’s lifeless body was allegedly found “on top of a bed of cocaine and tablets” yesterday morning following a suspected overdose.

Speaking after the tragic discovery, her distraught mum Hazel revealed she and her husband Clive, 81, refused to go to Paula’s prison wedding in 2017.
Hazel, 80, said of the marriage: “It was wrong.”
She told MailOnline: “I said: ‘I don’t like what you are doing, but I still love you, I don’t want you to be estranged from me.
“I could not understand what had possessed her. I had never heard of him, but when I knew I thought ‘for goodness sake’.
“It was unfathomable. She said: ‘You do not know him, he is ever so nice’. But the things he had done were not very nice.
“She seemed to think it was glamorous. But we would not go to the wedding.”
BODY FOUND BY NEW LOVER
Paula, 38, was found unresponsive at her home in Stoke-on-Trent by her new lover – just hours after it was revealed Bronson wants to wed again.
Emergency services rushed to the scene but the former Coronation Street actress could not be saved.
Cops said they weren’t treating the death as suspicious.
Sources told The Sun it was “drug related” and revealed Paula had been thrown out of a nightclub while “off her face” on Saturday night.
The following day Bronson, 66, announced he wanted to marry a pensioner called “Joan” when he is freed.
He said: “There’s not a 33-year-old bird out there who’s fit to clean her shoes.”
Convicted robber Bronson, dubbed Britain’s most violent prisoner, has spent 44 years behind bars.
He wed Paula in November 2017 at Wakefield Prison but they split last July when The Sun revealed photos of a lad burying himself in her boobs.
She was an unusual daughter, but she has always been a good daughter. We were very proud of her
Despite not going to their wedding, doting mum Hazel said she still cherished her relationship with Paula – who she described as her “most beautiful butterfly.”
She saw her nearly every day – and last visited on Friday night to bring Paula a fan during last week’s heatwave.
Speaking from her home in Stoke-on-Trent, tearful Hazel added: “She was a good daughter as well as a friend.
“She was an unusual daughter, but she has always been a good daughter. We were very proud of her.
“I loved her very, very much, and she loved me. I don’t know what I am going to do now without Paula.”
MARRIAGE BEING ANNULLED
Paula had asked for her marriage to Bronson – who now goes by the name Charles Salvador – to be annulled on the grounds it was not consummated.
A source told The Sun last night: “She had only been with her new boyfriend for a couple of weeks when he found her.
“It didn’t seem like she had been mourning her marriage but the timing suggests she was hiding how she felt.
