Pets at Home is selling £25 paddling pools for dogs so your pooches can keep cool in the heat

PETS AT HOME has launched a brand new range of products specifically designed to help your dogs manage the heat.

With temperatures set to soar across the UK pet owners may rightly be worried about how to keep their pooches cool.

Pets at Home has launched a new range of products designed to keep your pooch cool this summer with paddling pool prices starting from £25

But to help ensure your prize possessions don’t overheat, you may want to consider Pets At Home’s Totally Tropical Dog Paddling Pool for £25.

It’s perfect for warm days or you can use it as an outside dog bath.

It’s made from durable double-wall polyester and has a galvanised spring steel frame that pops up and down in seconds.

When set up it’s 25cm x 91cm x 91cm.

If you’ve got a larger dog, you can opt for the extra large version, which comes in at 30cm x 122cm x 122cm and costs £35.

Of course, shops are awash with paddling pools right now and plenty of them are very reasonably priced – even if they’re not designed for dogs.

Clearly, you’ll want to avoid anything inflatable for pets with claws, but it might be worth shopping around to see if you can get a better deal on plastic or polyester ones.

Argos, for example has non-inflatable pools starting from just £11 although they’re on the small side so you might need to pay more if you’ve got a bigger dog.

Here’s our round up of the best value paddling pools at the moment.

But be warned, if you buy one that’s not designed for pups and it tears – you’re unlikely to have a leg (or paw) to stand on when seeking a refund.

A cooling coat can help make sure that your dog is comfortable throughout the heatwave

If you’re out and about, you might want to consider Pets At Home’s range of cooling coats and bandanas on offer.

It’s cheapest range starts at £15 for an extra small cooling vest with an extra large version £23.

Whichever vest you opt for, make sure you measure your pet first to guarantee you’ll get a good fit.

But you can buy dog cooling coats for less at Amazon where it’s selling some starting from £10.99.

Get a cooling bandana for your pet, with prices starting at just £10

If you don’t thing a vest is the right option for your dog, there’s also a range of bandanas that might help.

They vary in sizes, starting with a small/medium bandana which fits a dog with a neck size of 30cm to 46cm and costs £10.

The largest size available is large/extra large, which fits a neck size of 46cm to 61cm and costs £12.

But again, we did find these cheaper on Amazon where prices start from £7.40.

Also newly launched are a range of Cool Club Cooling mats.

You can get a small mat for £14, a medium mat for £17, a large one for £19 and an extra large will set you back £22.

But B&M and Aldi both have cooling mats for less, starting at a bargain £4.99.

These mats will help make sure your pet has somewhere cool to lie down

If you still fancy Pets At Home’s version, it’s filled with a safe, non-toxic gel that stays five to 10 degrees cooler than room temperature, and helps cool your pet down.

But be careful not to let your dogs chew the mat and seek medical advice if the gel is ingested.

Most items are available in store or online, but there are some web exclusive offers so it’s worth looking online before you head out.

Meanwhile, B&M is selling garden sun loungers for dogs so your pets can enjoy the sunshine too.

And Lidl is selling a chair for your cat and a dog bed with a sun shade this week.

Finally, our top tips on a cheap day out with your dog you’d be barking mad to miss.
