On Monday, the Good Morning Britain host responded to a news article published by the BBC. Mr Morgan wrote “Oh FFS” with a pointing hand emoji directed towards the virus report.

According to the BBC, the new strain of flu has the potential to become a pandemic.

Scientists have reportedly identified the strain in China.

They said it is carried by pigs but can also infect humans.

The researchers have raised concerns that the new strain could mutate and trigger a global outbreak.

Some social media users agreed with Mr Morgan’s reaction to the news.

One twitter user said: “My thoughts exactly.”

While another user said: “That was my response too.”

Another user replied: “My sentiments exactly. We can’t manage one pandemic so god help us if there is another.”

It is also reportedly covered by the annual flu vaccine to make sure people are protected.

In May, Mr Morgan detailed the symptoms he was encountering before he took a test for Covid-19.

In a Tweet Mr Morgan responded to a social media user who questioned the journalist’s symptoms.

Mr Morgan wrote: “If you really want to know, I developed shortness of breath, a cough and unusual lethargy – three possible signs of Covid-19.

“So my doctor told me to take a coronavirus test, which was thankfully negative.”

The journalist revealed his symptoms after declaring that he would be absent from the show for a short time.

He wrote on Twitter: “I’ve had a test for Covid-19 and so won’t be working on Good Morning Britain until I get the result back, which should be tomorrow.”

When he received his results, he posted an update on Twitter.

He wrote: “UPDATE: My Covid-19 test was negative.

“I was advised to take the test by my doctor after developing possible coronavirus symptoms, and was entitled to do so as a Govt-designated essential worker.”
