The Bosnian NBA star, 24, was questionable for Wednesday’s tie against Utah Jazz after feeling some soreness in his right knee and was due to have tests on it before the game.
Portland will miss the presence of the 7ft giant, who has been an emerging talent for them this season.
Joe Freeman from the Oregonian described how useful Nurkić has been for the Blazers.
“Their increase in assists this season has come thanks to the emergence of Jusuf Nurkić, whose passing has been so exceptional,” he said.
“The Blazers have been running more of their offence through him.
“If you can read this you’re too close, he has a girlfriend”

“Whether passing out of double-teams on the block or reading the defence from the top of the key, Nurkić’s evolution has been significant.”
Nurkić is dating his long-term girlfriend Emina Durić.
The beautiful brunette was also born in Nurkić’s hometown of Tuzla, Bosnia.
She also had a very unique way to keep potential golddiggers at bay.
In March 2017, she gave her boyfriend a shirt with a picture of her face on it.
The shirt read: “If you can read this you’re too close, he has a girlfriend.”
Although Emina closely guards her personal life, Jusuf often shares pictures of the couple with his 307k Instagram followers.
“Where there is love there is life,” he wrote on one cute snap of the pair.
Blazers fans took to social media to show their frustration ahead of the game, as fourth-place Portland look to see off the challenge from seventh-place Utah.
One tweeted: “Blazers lose the game before it even started.”
While one Utah fan tweeted: “No Nurkić means Jazz must win.”
The Trail Blazers won 132-105 after a strong third quarter showing at Portland’s Moda Center.
