“Why bring anyone, at the moment, certainly someone who has the potential to be toxic?”
The Duchess of Sussex, 37, is due to give birth any day now, with close family and friends ready to offer her and Prince Harry, 34, any help they can.
But, royal commentator Victoria Arbiter has claimed the former Suits star will continue to shutout her dad after the pair fell out before last year’s Royal Wedding.
She said Thomas Markle Sr, 74, had done little to heal the rift between himself and daughter Meghan after he was pictured by paparazzi days before the big her and Harry tied the knot.
Ms Arbiter continued, claiming Mr Markle was not behaving like a “regular father”.
She added: “There is a lot of talk and commentary about how, now that Meghan is a mother, she should allow her father, Thomas Markle, to meet the baby.
“Yes, in a perfect world it would be wonderful for the baby of Sussex to have a hands-on grandfather.
“And of course a grandfather should have the opportunity to meet their grandchild but I don’t think we are dealing with a regular father here.”
Ms Arbiter continued: “Why bring anyone, at the moment certainly, someone who has the potential to be toxic or to provide long-term problems?
“How could she trust him? Meghan could have him come, meet the baby in their new house and then the next day he could be on breakfast TV in the UK telling everyone everything. So why the stress?”
Speculation has been rife whether Meghan will snub royal a royal tradition in regards to where she will give birth.
Kate Middleton and Prince William proudly showed off their newborns on the steps of the world-famous Lindo Wing.
But, it is believed Meghan will snub the four-decade-old tradition, opting instead for a maternity hospital in their new home of Windsor.
Odds are also on her having a home birth.
