Rangers boss Steven Gerrard sworn at by Celtic fans leaving ground in brutal footage

The Gers boss saw his side lose 2-1 to the Bhoys on a ferocious afternoon at Celtic Park.

Hot-headed striker Alfredo Morelos was sent off early on for an elbow on Hoops captain Scott Brown, who celebrated his side’s win by goading the away fans after the final whistle.

Rangers defender Andy Halliday was then sent off after confronting Brown, before Gers star Ryan Kent floored the midfielder with a punch.

And after the derby, Gerrard faced a hostile reception as he made his way back to his coach in footage filmed by Daily Star Online.

He was jeered and sworn at by the home fans, who were elated with their win.

Gers fans had been told to meet at the Velodrome for 10.30am.

They were then escorted to the ground by 11am.

Gerrard’s side now lie 13 point behind their bitter rivals in the Scottish Premiership.

Their hopes of catching Celtic are all but over following today’s derby.
