But a week after the case opened at Winchester Crown Court his ex-girlfriend Paulina Aberg told prosecutor William Mousley QC she had information about Broughton.

The court discussed her allegations without the jury present which is why her story can only be revealed after the verdict today.

Prosecutors told the court he filmed his then-girlfriend Miss Aberg after she fell over and cracked her head on a sink when he gave her drugs, reports MailOnline.

THROW OFF ROOF

Miss Aberg, from Sweden, flew to Winchester, Hants, for the second week of his trial and was interviewed by police.

She alleged he sent her a number of “unpleasant” messages and told her he “dreams of throwing her off the roof and lying to people about how she died”.

But his defence team argued that Miss Aberg had deleted the message and Broughton always denied never sending them.

Mr Mousley QC said: “The source on which the Crown seek permission is that which comes from a statement provided by a female.

“It deals with a specific incident which appears to have occurred some time in the first half of August 2017, so a month before events at Bestival.

She also says over and above that specific incident, she was aware the defendant had images of people suffering, or suffering death, on his phone, which he appeared to have some interest in.

Prosecutor William Mousley QC

“The defendant gives [Miss Aberg] what she describes as a ‘whole load of drugs’ and she says, as a result, she suffered a bad reaction, falling and hurting herself.

“She says that an image of her was taken by the defendant on his phone and subsequent to that she found it and she deleted the image.

“She also says over and above that specific incident, she was aware the defendant had images of people suffering, or suffering death, on his phone, which he appeared to have some interest in.”

The judge was also shown two videos of the defendant allegedly encouraging a young woman to inhale drugs from a spoon in Toronto, Canada.

MORE DRUGS

He could be heard saying “more” as he offered a second spoon of drugs to her.

Stephen Kamlish QC, defending, said “someone might take a morbid interest in grotesque images.”
He added: “This is not a case of salacious pleasure in death.

“She has a reason to want to do this and the reason is the breaking up of their relationship.”

The judge eventually ruled the evidence should not be heard in open court and in front of the jury because it was of “limited assistance”.

Ealier today Broughton was convicted of manslaughter after giving Louella Fletcher-Michie the fatal dose of the Class A drug – filming her as she screamed “like an animal” and ate thorns.

He had given six times the fatal dose of hallucinogenic 2-CP to Louella as they partied at the festival hours ahead of her 25th birthday.

Broughton will be sentenced tomorrow.
