Startling photos show the face of Alexander P before his health took a dramatic turn for the worse.
He was widely reportedly to have been savaged by a bear and dragged into its den after horrifying footage circulated which showed him emaciated and covered in sores.
It was reported in Russia that hunters thought he was a “mummy” before realising he was alive and rescuing him, although this has now been disputed.
A doctor in Kazakhstan claimed Alexander P was his patient and accounted for his condition as being due to a “depressive state” and a common skin ailment.
“He was treated in our hospital and at the end of this week was discharged, in satisfactory condition, into his mother’s care”
Dr Rustam Isaev
Dr Rustam Isaev said the man had psoriasis, a scaly skin condition which also affects Kim Karshadian and Cara Delevingne.
The medic said that the staff member responsible for leaking the footage would be fired.
Dr Isaev said: “As chief doctor here I’m saying you, this is our guy, he is not from Tuva nor anywhere else in Russia.”
He added: “Alexander P is a resident of Aktobe city in Kazakhstan.
“He was treated in our hospital and at the end of this week was discharged, in satisfactory condition, into his mother’s care.
“He had been lying at home, suffering from apathy, he did not want to live. He was in a depressive state.
“He did not get treatment for his skin condition.”
Russian news agency EADaily — which published the original story about the “bear attack” — offered a cash reward to anyone who could identify Alexander P.
