Last season Zinedine Zidane’s squad were ultimately eliminated from the competition after Ramos was unable to play in the knock-out stages against Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City.

In other concerning news Madrid’s Frenchman Raphael Varane has also touched back down from international duty with a shoulder complaint, meaning Madrid could yet be without their first choice central defensive pairing.
