Prior to marrying Meghan Markle in 2017, Prince Harry was highly sought after and dubbed ‘Britain’s most eligible bachelor’ by many in the UK. Amongadmirers were ITV ‘Good Morning Britain’ stars, Susanna Reid and Kate Garraway. During their on-air discussion about his romances an amusing battle ensued. The row over who would win his affections ended when Kate shoved her co-star into the sofa.
The TV hosts were discussing Prince Harry’s love life and his then ‘on-off girlfriend’ Chelsy Davy when the comedic clash began in 2015.
Kate, then 48, jokingly suggested that she and Susanna, then 44, should take the royal to lunch to fix his in the lead up to his 31st birthday.
The star said: “Should we go and have lunch, sit him down and sort him out?
“I’m just thinking we’re quite good aren’t we… as matchmakers.”
Susanna quipped: “Any excuse for you and I to go and have lunch is fine. We can talk about whatever you like.”
But after being informed that Prince Harry “prefers blondes”, the stars joked that Kate “may be in there”.
Following that revelation, Kate jokingly pushed her co-host off-camera and into the sofa to make it look like she was ‘out of the picture’.
As the pair burst into laughter, she then quipped: “Don’t bother with you, I’m just going out for lunch with Prince Harry.”
