Eugenie is a well-known user of social media and often posts emotional updates of photographs of the Royal Family to share with her thousands of followers. She routinely offers her best wishes to members of her family, including on birthdays, as well as special days in their lives. But last year, Eugenie forgot to send her regards to parents Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson – affectionately known as Fergie – sparking a wave of online responses.
Taking to Instagram, the princess confessed: “Who else has ever forgotten to congratulate their parents on their wedding anniversary?
“I’m a day late but I wanted to celebrate my parents getting married 33 years ago…
“Thank you for always being the best of friends and bringing us up together.”
Initially, claims from observers stated that the couple – who divorced in the Nineties but continue to live together – would get remarried, although others were just quick to praise the adorable post.
One wrote on Instagram: “They should remarry. Both awesome parents!”
Another said: “Your parents made a very handsome couple on their wedding day.
“I think it’s amazing how they still look so in love even now.”
While a third added: “Fabulous to see this amazing relationship and well worth celebrating! We are proud of you girls too!”
