Lady Colin Campbell is best known as British socialite and TV personality, who appeared on the hit UK reality series, I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here. The 70-year-old author spoke to the Daily Mail and mentioned how the wife of Prince Harry has been having political ambitions for a while and that the decision to move to the States as part of her political plan. After undertaking their final duties as senior members of the Royal Family in March, Harry and Meghan left the UK, with their son Archie, for a new life in the US.

The reason for the pair wanting to shy away from their royal duties is so they can live a more peaceful and liberating life away from the constant scrutiny.

“I know the Duchess of Sussex has political ambitions and I’ve been told that one day she wants to run for President.” Lady Campbell told the Daily Mail.

She added, “I think everything she is doing, leaving the Royal Family and moving back to California is part of her plan and she has taken Harry along with her.”

Lady Colin Campbell has written a new book on the couple called “Meghan and Harry the real story”.

In an interview with The Times back in June, the author and socialite revealed how when she approached American publishers about writing a book on the Duchess of Sussex, they apparently “jumped for joy”.

The reason being that Lady Campbell’s first royal publication on Diana, Princess of Wales became a New York Times bestseller.

She describes it as a “howling success” and that ‘Diana in Private’ was apparently partly based on the testimony of a mutual friend.

Although Lady Colin Campbell has not met Meghan she believes this has allowed her to be “ruthlessly impartial”.

Many critics of the pair noticed that Meghan was struggling to adapt to her royal life shortly after the wedding in 2018.

Lady Colin told how Meghan became the hot topic of conversation at a dinner held at her house at Castle Goring, Worthing in Sussex, following a garden party for Prince Charles’ 70th birthday.

It is reported that the socialite heard Meghan had been asking to leave after having her photo taken because she was apparently bored.

She has also emphasised the fact that Meghan was the main driving force behind why both she and Prince Harry wanted to leave the royal family.

“If you listen to their engagement tape they both state she’s been treated very well, she’s been welcomed with open arms and they can’t wait for her to become a working member of the royal family and she said she wanted to hit the ground running,” Lady Campbell said.

She added: “It did not work out for Meghan the way she thought it would… Meghan did not make the adjustment she should have and could have, and she is the one in my opinion who drove the departure.”

In the book, there are reportedly certain excerpts that are unflattering towards Meghan.

For example, in one section Lady Campbell writes: “Meghan’s whole life is an act” and claims Harry “was desperate to meet someone”… “he’s not the swiftest”… “he’s a prop” and “pathetic.”

Lady Colin adds of Meghan: “This person is no more suited to royal life than Angelina Jolie would be to competitive boxing.”

“She has inflated herself beyond natural entitlement. Since she always wanted to be a star, she has this propensity for exaggeration.”

Lady Campbell notes that Prince Harry, Meghan’s husband, should have been more instructive and insinuates that he is being played by his wife.

A lot of people had hoped for Meghan to be a success as part of the royal family, according to the socialite.

“Hundreds of millions of people of colour were rooting for Meghan, I was rooting for Meghan, being a Jamaican, I was emotionally invested in Meghan’s success.”
