Russia to take first 'private citizen' on spacewalk outside ISS in 2023 – could it be YOU?

The space company said: “If you choose to fly to space on the Russian Soyuz spacecraft, you have the opportunity to … conduct a spacewalk, accompanied by a professional cosmonaut.”

The tourist trio will fly to the ISS onboard a Russian Soyuz MS-20 spacecraft and will have a unique opportunity to celebrate New Year’s in orbit.

According to Roscosmos, the agency has already started customising the Soyuz spaceship for tourist trips so one person could pilot it rather than a three-person crew.

The company, together with the Russian agency, previously took eight tourists to the ISS between 2001 and 2009.
