Fans of the Duchess of Sussex claimed Prince Charles “sat back” and “did absolutely nothing” to support his son Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle when they got “bullied”. The scathing attacks come months after Meghan and Harry quit the Royal Family to lead a life away from the public eye in LA with their son Archie Harrison.
The criticism was prompted after Prince Charles, 71, released a video message to mark Windrush Day on Monday, where he said the “diversity of our society is its greatest strength and gives us so much to celebrate”.
But fans of Meghan said Charles failed to protect his daughter-in-law whom they claim is “as diverse as the Royal Family will ever get”.
One angry fan posted on Twitter: ”Shame on him for real. He did nothing to protect his daughter in law….as diverse as they come…”
Another said: “Shame on him! That family is not smart.

“Given their history, they should have gone out of their way to hug-up and protect Meghan Markle. She is as diverse as they will ever get. Now they look as out of touch and ’un-woke’ as ever.”
One posted: “This from the man who sat back and watched his own daughter-in-law got racially bullied & did absolutely nothing to support her.”
Another fan sarcastically tweeted: “Gosh. Maybe someday a member of the royal family will marry a beautiful, accomplished African American person.
“Then the family can unite around this person with love and support when they are victimised by racists. Oh wait…”

The angry comments came after Prince Charles heralded Britain’s diversity as its “greatest strength” and urged people to listen to each other’s stories and to learn from one another.
Paying tribute to the country’s Caribbean community for their contribution to life in the UK, the heir to the throne said: “Today, as we honour the legacy of the Windrush generation and the invaluable contribution of black people in Britain, I dearly hope that we can continue to listen to each other’s stories and to learn from one another.
“The diversity of our society is its greatest strength and gives us so much to celebrate.”
But Duchess of Sussex fans accused him of “hypocrisy” and “empty words”.
One posted: “These are just empty words. That’s rich coming from you. I don’t think you believe them.
“If you did you would not have sat silently by and let the Br. Media crucify Meghan, your daughter in law and the only example of diversity in your family.”

“So we are supposed to believe you care about diversity.”Another posted: “Some people like to grab on to people coat tail you’re the future King.
“Prince Harry and Meghan came out before you don’t you think something is wrong with the picture you want diversity in your country but not in your family thats call big time HYPOCRISY.”
One added: “What about the way Meghan Markle was treated by some royal family members? And that British media? People who live in glass castles should not throw stones.”

Meghan Markle and Harry left the Royal Family at the start of this year
Speaking about the moment he asked his father to take up the honour Prince Harry said Prince Charles vowed he would “do whatever Meghan needs”.
Speaking on a special television programme to mark Charles’ 70th birthday, Harry said, “I asked him to and I think he knew it was coming and he immediately said, ‘Yes, of course, I’ll do whatever Megan needs and I’m here to support you.’
“For him, that’s a fantastic opportunity to step up and be that support. And, you know, he’s our father, so of course he’s going to be there for us.”
Kensington Palace announced in a statement at the time saying: “Ms. Meghan Markle has asked His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales to accompany her down the aisle of the Quire of St. George’s Chapel on her wedding day.
“The Prince of Wales is pleased to be able to welcome Ms. Markle to The Royal Family in this way.”
