Chilling video captures the moment players and parents were sent scrambling when gunfire broke out at a Florida youth football game.
Police said the shooting left a 27-year-old man dead and his 7-year-old son wounded when shots were fired outside the Arlington Heights Elementary School in Jacksonville on Sunday, according to TMZ.
The video begins with a man speaking as he shoots footage of the players on the field.
“This is a highly anticipated game,” he says, just moments before several rounds are fired off.
“Somebody’s shooting,” he then says.
The footage does not show the actual shooting but dozens of young football players are seen reacting to four shots that ring out in the background, sending several scrambling in a panic to find cover, while others hit the ground.
“Stay down,” coaches are heard saying.
According to police, the gunman, wearing a hoodie and a mask, pulled up to the field in a gray SUV, opened fire, then sped off in the vehicle.
Cops believe the victim was targeted, but have not identified the culprit, TMZ said.
The youngster who was wounded is expected to recover.
“What a shame,” the man shooting the video is heard saying. “F—-g ridiculous. That’s the ball game, ya’ll.”
