A thug viciously boxed a 67-year-old man to the floor of a shop in New York leaving him with a broken nose and brain hemorrhaging.

Security camera footage shows the attacker beat the senior citizen to the ground at a ShopRite store at the Gateway Center in East New York.

He punches the man several times in front of shocked customers at the store in Brooklyn after a shouting match began between the pair.

The attacker brushed against the victim’s shopping basket twice before they started arguing, authorities said.

In the video, the attacker wearing a white T-shirt lands a punch on the victim dressed in a dark blue Adidas tracksuit with his left hand.

He jabs the man twice more, but the 67-year-old stays on his feet and circles round in a boxing stance.

The attacker hits him two more times in the head and the pensioner crumples to the floor.

A stunned cashier watches on as the attacker continues to lay into the scrambling man on the floor.

The elderly man was transported to Brookdale Hospital in stable condition and was treated for a broken nose, bruises and a brain hemorrhage. 

The attack happened at 10.50pm on October 15 but police are still searching for the culprit, who fled the scene.

Police have kept the identity of the victim anonymous but said he is in a stable condition.  

New York Police Department said: ‘Do you know this guy? 

‘On 10/15/20 at approx 10:50 AM, inside of 590 Gateway Dr in Brooklyn, the suspect assaulted a 67-year-old male victim, causing a broken nose, lacerations and brain hemorrhaging.
